We lost comrades.
We lost marriages, sons and daughters.
We've had unique experiences.
We have unique strengths.
We have unique levels of resiliency.
All combat experiences are subjective.
Most are not experienced as trauma.
In time, impact is attenuated by individual psyches:
adaptive coping strengths;
resiliency;
diminishing recall.
Advanced age erases unpleasant aspects.
Flashbacks remain vivid but manageable.
PTSD fades to insignificance.
In old age, we find calm.
Exercise often.
Welcome all assistance.
See the beauty around you.
Contribute to a better world.
Be patient.
