Atrocities and death; Donbas is moonscape.
Attackers are monsters – they murder and rape.
Think tanks, governments and universities
Fund conflict research and peace studies.
It remains for me a troubling riddle
That they spend so much, and effect so little.
A peaceful nation-state is attacked,
And the Security Council fails to act.
UN is powerless: Russia blocks reaction.
No intervention. No sanction, No substantive action.
No response for Ukraine. No shelter from storm.
No quelling of violence. No UN reform.
Mariupol: shelter of shattered dreams.
Distraught survivors can’t suppress screams.
Rebar, sunflowers, concrete and mud
