Early Summer
With azaleas,
magnolia, and dogwood in glory,
Summer’s here early–
what’s the story?
Searching for mates
are tree frogs and gators.
We’ll have three crops
of melons and ‘maters.
Back to the South have
flown starlings and ducks;
Back to the North have
flown Canadians (Canucks).
Unusual Feb - we go
swimming and biking,
And work up a sweat in
our running and hiking.
We’re told to prepare
for some fast global warming
The proof is in
absence of new glaciers forming.
Opposing views are
held by deniers,
But what greater proof
than these multiple fires?
Seems that our climate
has gradually warmed,
(Though on my
windshield today some ice had formed.)
