Concentration is more about focusing your
thoughts than the actual object of your thoughts. It is your intense mental
effort accomplished, ideally, within a quiet environment. It is needed for
looking within—for reflection, clarification, or analysis.
If possible, let go of stressful
influences. Create your own silence and visual stillness. Clear your mind of
noise, clutter, distraction and other stimuli. When able to concentrate, take
the time you need for analysis. Carefully think your issue through. Compare the
current circumstance with a preferred or ideal circumstance. Develop, explore,
and prioritize options. Formulate a flexible strategy to resolve the
circumstance.
The luxury of solitude permits deep
concentration needed to look within. Undistracted, focused thought can reward
you with new insights, new strategies, evidence-based truths, and healthy
behaviors.
