OPTIMISM

Though defeatism fuels heartbreaks and headaches,
Your ideas are sound, and you've learned from mistakes.
Despite your dismissals by bullies and kings,
Have faith in yourself— give imagination its wings.

Don’t dwell on your setbacks. Just plan a fresh start,
Then proceed with all the hope in your heart.
One-on-one, or in groups or the workplace,
Bring conviction, reason, and a knowledge base.
Discover your reasonable, realistic hope
Of what’s doable, then expand your scope.
Expecting best outcomes should be your attitude
As you strive toward your goals with good actions and fortitude.

Misunderstanding, rumor, and myth breed cynicism.
Reason, reality, and truth feed optimism.
You'll endure scorn, ridicule, and derision
As you proceed toward your long-cherished vision
Others will think your idealism naïve:
"Your delusion will be impossible to achieve!”
Skeptics will dismiss, and attempt to dissuade,
But your goals will sustain you, so proceed undismayed.

Though some may see your confidence as outrageous,
Your enthusiasm and spirit are generally contagious.
With virtue, ethics, and truth you'll attain
The success you deserve, again and again.

Arising from optimism, dreams define the real you.
With perseverance and patience, they indeed can come true.
