To the Heartland
May I remind you, in case you've
forgotten?
Your soybeans filled bins, all unsold
and rotten.
Trump’s high tariffs failed: China
bought from Brazil.
His trade war left you no orders to
fill.
While your soy farms lay fallow,
flooded or failed,
Many of you went bankrupt; some were
indeed jailed.
He laughed as you farmers in the wind
slowly twisted.
(He played at golf; you barely
existed.)
Farm bailout bought your vote and a
MAGA hat.
He schmoozed with Putin; his assets
grew fat.
Respectfully (and in your defense)
You mistook charisma for competence.
He scoffs at your values, this Donnie
the con.
In the ’24 election will you again be
his pawn?
