To the Heartland
May I remind you, in case you've forgotten?
Trump’s tariffs didn't
work: Xi bought from Brazil.
Your soybeans filled
bins, all unsold and rotten.
His trade war left you
no orders to fill.
He failed in that game,
Donnie the con.
While your soy farms
lay fallow, flooded or failed,
In his quest for more
power, you were his pawn.
Many of you went
bankrupt; some were indeed jailed.
Farm bailouts for
ballots was his remedy, tit-for-tat,
But you now slide down
a soybean oil slope.
Tax dollars bought votes
and your new MAGA hat.
Your vote was
misplaced, not to mention your hope.
Bailouts are now
unfunded. Imagine that.
He’s putting and
driving; you're barely existing.
While schmoozing with
dictators, his assets grow fat.
He laughs at you
farmers in the wind slowly twisting.
